Battered by severe torrential rain brought by Typhoon Dolphin, Shanghai encountered extreme rainfall weather with upgraded Level II flood and typhoon prevention response. Pudong area recorded a maximum 6-hour cumulative rainfall of over 160mm and an hourly rainfall intensity exceeding 75mm, pushing the drainage system of the low-lying Donggou Area to its annual extreme test. In this severe weather condition, the integrated prefabricated pump station project undertaken by Shanghai KORE for the new rainwater pump station and supporting pipeline system in Donggou Area operated stably at full capacity, delivering powerful drainage performance and passing the rigorous test of extreme rainstorms.
The Donggou Area is an old built-up zone in Pudong with outdated and low-standard original drainage pipelines. In previous heavy rain seasons, the maximum waterlogging depth on main roads reached 35cm, and standing water lasted for more than 4 hours, causing frequent water inundation and backflow risks to surrounding residential communities and commercial stores. It has long been a key and difficult area for urban flood control and drainage improvement.
The KORE integrated prefabricated pump station serves as the core equipment for the area's drainage capacity upgrading. Adopting the model PPS.38.48.Ⅱ.ZL.B.KR, it features a 3.8-meter-diameter and 4.8-meter-height cylinder structure, equipped with a 45kW high-efficiency axial dual pump set. With a maximum drainage flow of 4320m³ per hour, the pump station is capable of rapidly collecting regional rainwater and discharging it to external water systems efficiently.

In response to the typhoon early warning, KORE's professional operation and maintenance team launched a 24-hour on-duty emergency mechanism in advance. We completed comprehensive inspections on all core equipment including grille cleaners, liquid level sensors, electric control systems and supporting pipe networks, and pre-lowered the liquid level of the pump cylinder to reserve sufficient storage capacity for rainwater. During the entire rainfall period, the intelligent control system automatically adjusted the operating speed of the unit according to real-time rainfall intensity. The pump station achieved a total drainage volume of over 26,000 cubic meters throughout the typhoon, with zero equipment failure, zero pipeline blockage and zero water overflow in the whole operation process.
The project achieved remarkable practical results in extreme weather. During the typhoon attack, the waterlogging depth and duration of Donggou Area's main roads were well controlled within the expected range. Standing water receded rapidly right after the rainfall peak. No obvious water inundation or flood damage occurred to local residential and commercial facilities. The regional flood drainage and waterlogging resistance capacity has been substantially upgraded, effectively solving the long-term urban waterlogging problem in rainy seasons.

As a professional manufacturer and supplier of integrated prefabricated pump stations, Shanghai KORE provides a full range of pump stations with cylinder diameters from 1.2 meters to 10 meters, perfectly adapting to diverse application scenarios including municipal flood drainage, old community renovation, factory sewage drainage and more.
