The protection level of water pump control cabinet mainly depends on its installation environment. Specifically:
When the water pump control cabinet is located in the fire pump control room, its protection level should not be lower than IP30. This is because the control room usually does not allow pipes to pass through, so the requirements for waterproof and dustproof are relatively low.
When the water pump control cabinet and the fire pump are set in the same space, such as in the fire pump room, its protection level should not be lower than IP55. This is because there are many pressurized water pipes in the fire pump room, and there are pressure fluctuations such as water hammer, which may cause water leakage and affect the operation of the control cabinet.
Protection level standard
IP30: Prevent solid foreign objects with a diameter greater than 50mm from entering the equipment, but cannot completely prevent dust.
IP55: Prevent harmful dust accumulation and prevent sprayed water from entering the equipment.
Application scenarios and standard basis
These protection level requirements are determined according to the provisions of the Technical Specifications for Fire Water Supply and Fire Hydrant Systems GB50974-2014.
